Project resources

Where do I start?

Do you have a science fair project idea? Are you unsure about what kind of research or experiment you could try? Whether you have an idea or not, Youth Science Canada has created an outstanding resource called ‘mySTEMspace’ to help you get started.

mySTEMspace is an outstanding resource. It will help guide you through the process of choosing a topic, designing your project, analyzing your data, and communicating your findings.

Remember if you are testing on humans or animals you MUST read the appropriate guidelines BEFORE you start your project. Safety and ethics must always be considered when you are doing great Science!

Who can help me?

Families and teachers are usually a big help throughout the Science Fair process. Many students also get help from a mentor in the community, especially if they need to consult a subject expert. If you encounter a question or problem that cannot be answered by a family member, teacher, or mentor, please feel free to reach out to us.

What does a great Science Fair Project look like?

If you are looking for inspiration, the Canada Wide Science Fair has a virtual gallery of the best projects in Canada last year. It is a great place to learn by example and look for ways to take your own project to the next level.
