The 2020 Canada Wide Science Fair has been cancelled for the first time in 59 years. Our committee would like to thank all students who indicated an interest in our virtual fair. As a result of this decision from YSC, our virtual fair is also cancelled.
We would like to encourage all of you to continue to improve your projects. We can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store for us next year!

In response to the decision to close publicly funded schools the SCRSTF planning committee has made the decision to cancel our face-to-face fair this year. We understand that students, along with their parents and teachers, have put in a significant amount of time and effort to prepare for the fair. It is extremely important that these steps are taken to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.
At this time, Youth Science Canada has not cancelled the 2020 Canada Wide Science Fair. For this reason, we would still like to be able to consider eligible projects to represent Simcoe County should the national fair go on as planned. As an alternative to the traditional format, we would like to invite registered SCRSTF participants in grades 7 – 12 to contact us at scrstf@gmail.com in order to receive details about how they can submit an online version of their project.

We recognize the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 and are anxious not to put anyone’s health at risk. We are currently gathering information and waiting for information from our partners. We plan to make an announcement regarding this year’s science fair in the next couple of days.

Important deadlines for teachers and students:
January 17 2020 Register as a teacher
February 1, 2020 Registration opens. Teachers register your students. Students complete registration. Registration fee $10.
If you are a student registering independently from your school please email stelford@scdsb.on.ca to receive your login information.
March 6, 2020 Registration closes. After March 6 late fees apply.
March 7 – 13, 2020 Last opportunity to register for the fair. Late fees apply. Registration fee $15.
